Orange Creamsicle Delight Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • 1 box (3 oz) orange gelatin mix
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp orange extract (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare two 8-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix and the orange gelatin mix until they are well mixed.
  3. Incorporate the orange juice, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and orange zest into the dry mixture. Beat everything together until smooth and fully combined.
  4. Evenly distribute the batter between the two prepared cake pans.
  5. Place the cakes in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. After baking, allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
For the frosting, beat the softened butter in a bowl until it becomes fluffy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until well combined.
  1. Mix in the heavy cream and orange extract (if using), and continue to beat the mixture until it is smooth and creamy.
  2. Frost the top of the first cake layer, then carefully place the second layer on top. Apply frosting to the entire cake.
  3. Slice the cake and serve it, then enjoy!
