Ingredients

Scale

For the Ground Beef Filling
1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken for a lighter option)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade—see below)
1/2 cup water
Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Wraps
810 large flour or corn tortillas

Optional Toppings
Shredded lettuce
Diced tomatoes
Shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
Sliced avocado or guacamole
Sour cream or Greek yogurt
Salsa or hot sauce
Fresh cilantro, chopped

Optional Homemade Taco Seasoning
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it apart as it browns. Once the meat is fully cooked and no longer pink, stir in the chopped onion and garlic. Continue cooking for 2–3 minutes until softened. Sprinkle in the taco seasoning and pour in the water. Stir thoroughly and simmer for 3–5 minutes until the liquid is mostly absorbed and the flavors are blended.

Step 2: Warm the Tortillas
Heat tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side. Alternatively, wrap them in foil and warm in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5–10 minutes, or microwave them for 20–30 seconds wrapped in a damp paper towel.

Step 3: Assemble the Wraps
Lay a tortilla flat and spoon some of the ground beef mixture into the center. Add any desired toppings such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, avocado, or a dollop of sour cream or salsa. Fold in the sides and roll the tortilla tightly into a wrap.

Step 4: Serve
Serve the wraps whole or sliced in half for easier eating. Add extra condiments like salsa, sour cream, or guacamole on the side for dipping.

Notes

You can make the ground beef filling in advance and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. These wraps also make great lunchbox options and can be wrapped in foil for easy reheating. For a crispier texture, lightly grill the filled wraps in a skillet or sandwich press.
