This Ritz Cracker Chicken is crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The combination of crushed Roasted Vegetable Ritz crackers and shredded cheddar cheese creates a delicious golden crust. Served with a creamy sauce, this dish is comforting and easy to make for a family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

For the chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed (Roasted Vegetable flavor recommended)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Garlic pepper, to taste

For the sauce:

  • 10 oz. can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg and 1/4 cup of milk. In another dish, place the crushed Ritz crackers, and in a third dish, add the shredded cheddar cheese.

Season the chicken breasts with salt and garlic pepper. Dip each chicken breast into the egg and milk mixture, then press shredded cheese onto the chicken, ensuring it sticks well. Finally, coat the chicken with the crushed Ritz crackers, pressing gently to adhere.

Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and the crust is golden brown.

While the chicken bakes, prepare the sauce by melting the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and 1/4 cup of milk. Whisk until smooth and heated through.

Serve the chicken hot with the creamy sauce drizzled over the top.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, use an additional half sleeve of Ritz crackers.
  • If using plain Ritz crackers, add a pinch of dried Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
