Death by Chocolate Dump Cake

This Death by Chocolate Dump Cake is the ultimate indulgence for chocolate lovers. With rich layers of chocolate cake, creamy pudding, and melted chocolate chips, every bite is a decadent experience. The best part? It’s incredibly easy to make with just a handful of ingredients and no complicated steps. Perfect for a quick dessert, potlucks, or when you need a serious chocolate fix.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 small box instant chocolate pudding
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips (any type works great)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, instant chocolate pudding, and cocoa powder. Stir in the milk until the mixture is just combined, ensuring a smooth, thick batter.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top of the batter, allowing them to create pockets of melted chocolate throughout the cake as it bakes.

Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. The cake should be moist but set.

Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm on its own, or top it with whipped cream, ice cream, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup for an extra indulgent touch.

Notes

  • Use dark chocolate chips for a richer, less sweet flavor.
  • Swap regular milk for half-and-half or evaporated milk for an even creamier texture.
  • Serve warm for the best gooey consistency.
