Asian Meatballs Crockpot Recipe

These Asian-inspired meatballs are the perfect combination of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors. Made with a flavorful hoisin-based sauce and cooked to perfection in a crockpot, they’re ideal for appetizers, parties, or a quick dinner. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions for a delightful finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (20 oz) bag frozen meatballs (or use homemade)
  • ½ cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • ½ tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • Green onions, diced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the meatballs:

Place the frozen or homemade meatballs into your crockpot.

2️⃣ Make the sauce:

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic powder, and brown sugar until well combined.

3️⃣ Combine:

Pour the sauce over the meatballs in the crockpot. Toss gently to ensure all the meatballs are evenly coated with the sauce.

4️⃣ Cook:

Cover the crockpot with the lid.

Cook on high for 1-2 hours or on low for 2-4 hours, stirring occasionally to redistribute the sauce evenly.

5️⃣ Garnish:

Once the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly, sprinkle with diced green onions and sesame seeds.

6️⃣ Serve:

Serve immediately as an appetizer with toothpicks or over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1-2 teaspoons of Sriracha or chili garlic sauce to the sauce mixture.
  • Homemade meatballs can be used for a fresher option—brown them in a skillet before adding to the crockpot for additional flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
